The voice will give you instructions and you have to make split second adjustments. The voice continues to talk to you, saying you’re lucky to be alive and that the Helghast worked you hard. Just follow them and whatever you do, keep moving. Just then the door to the cell opens and the mission begins.Īs you begin to move, the voice will continue to give you instructions. Although not revealing their identity, the voice tells Lucas that they are close. The voice tells him to follow its instructions and it’ll get him out of there. Despite the forest teasing this style of design the rest of the game just goes "fuck it" and regresses back to heavy handed linear scripting, none of which even stands as a series high.Killzone: Shadow Fall Chapter 6 – The Agentįor the complete Killzone: Shadow Fall walkthrough, read Prima’s free guide.Īs the chapter begins, Lucas is coming to with an unidentified voice speaking to him. A little bit more freedom in objective approach and level design, but not so much so that the set pieces lose their distinct Killzone flair.īut no. ![]() It had me thinking of Mercenaries, which I liked for doing exactly this quite often, and made me feel this kind of direction would be ideal for the franchise to keep it familiar yet fresh. It was still obviously a linear, set piece driven shooter, but the stage teased at leased a hint of openness in objective pacing, encounter variety, and tool usage. It's nothing revolutionary, but I derived enjoyment out of the forest thanks to its Crysis-lite level design that tasked you with accomplishing 2 - 3 objectives in the order you wished and encouraged somewhat inventive use of the owl. It was made worse for me by the early forest level, which I felt set a really deceptive precedent for the game to follow. ![]() ![]() It's an extremely impressive production and technological show piece, but yeah. And most of the encounters hold no real weight or pressure to stay with you. It's frequently rigid in how it leads you through levels, particularly with over scripting for the sake of cinematic sequences. Almost all the set pieces and stages are completely forgettable. I didn't find it complicated, but I did find it overwhelmingly boring and uninteresting. Makes me worry about the gameplay of the upcoming game Horizon Zero Dawn. There's just nothing redeeming about KZ SF, it's totally forgettable. I did enjoy the graphics, I'll give 'em that.Īnd this is from someone who really enjoyed Killzone 2 (even though it did have several shortcomings). I actually quit at the last level (right before meeting Stahl, wiki told me) because I couldn't muster up any motivation to keep playing.Īnd what's up with the shooting mechanism? I played a bit of the Destiny demo and going back to Killzone SF really highlights the poor gunplay. Just a really poor game, from the lackluster level design to the godawful enemy AI, boring gunfights, needlessly complicated controls (looking at you OWL) and even for Killzone standards the completely unengaging storyline. Talking about the singleplayer here, haven't even bothered to play MP. Only payed 15 euro's for the game, but christ, Killzone SF is really awful. I only recently got a PS4 so I figured I'd start with some of the older games first. ![]()
